In contrast to a conventional horror trailer, this trailer has a fixed narrative with a voice over in the background. Furthermore, it also contradicts the establishing shot a typical trailer because it goes straight into the main action. However, although it contradicts some conventions or paradigms of horror, it also follows some conventions. For instance in terms of iconography and structure it uses a remote location to set the plot. Furthermore, in relation to structure, the trailer initiates with fade to black scenes and illustrating emotions of happiness e.g. when the characters are in the car driving a long distance (subtle) this also the period of equilibrium. This could be reflected in the editors or producers musical choice, as they use a piano to connote happiness. On the other hand, the moment of disequilibrium is shown in (0.48), when the mood of the trailer quickly shifts, this depicted through the use of blood and constant screaming which could be a microcosm representing most horror films, this is achieved by using regular jump scenes and also increasing the temp of scenes. Lastly, in relation to editing the editors/ producer have used montage editing to add to the element of reality and allows the audience to relate to the trailer.
